I am 53 years old. Since I was a teenager I have worked and studied. In my house my mother was mother and father, because my father abandoned us. I managed to get a University degree in Tourism. But in Venezuela a building security guard has a better salary than a hotel manager. Since I've been working, the money is only enough for emergencies. In the companies that hire me, they see in me a way out for their companies to be saved and not go bankrupt. But very seldom is there a reward beyond a hug. I no longer have the energy of years ago. My body is old and tired, I worked many years at night, I am exhausted, besides having no home, I have no savings, I work for my family, I have a sick mother who suffers because she feels that she is dying. I keep fighting because I have the full weight of that responsibility on my shoulders and I don't know how, but I cannot lower my arms and abandon my family. Every day I am getting sicker, older and more tired. I do not faint, I continue to fight and ask God for the stroke of luck that allows me to buy a home so that my family and I can live in peace. God allow me to find people with a good heart who identify with my situation and show solidarity. A prayer or a small donation can make a difference.
